You want two figures on your phone: who owes you, and what is in the bank. The books live in Tally on the accountant's PC. For factory owners, Tally on mobile comes down to two routes that need no phone call: Tally's own browser reports, or a read-only copy of Tally inside Fab ERP. For some owners the first route is enough.
What does Tally's own mobile route need?
Tally describes it on its own site. As read on 20 Oct 2026 (page published 30 Sep, updated 14 Oct 2026), TallyPrime reports open in a mobile browser: Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Day Book, ledgers, receivables, payables and stock reports. It needs an active TSS subscription and an internet connection on the computer where TallyPrime is running. Every person who views reports needs their own Tally.NET ID. Nothing is installed on the phone. Reports are fetched from your TallyPrime when you open them.
If you are a one-company owner who wants Tally's own reports on a phone, that may be all you need. Check Tally's page for the current terms before you decide.
What does the Fab ERP connector do instead?
It reads Tally and keeps a copy inside your Fab ERP workspace. Every request it sends to Tally is an Export. It reads, and it never writes. It asks for:
- Sales, purchase, credit note and debit note vouchers, with their GST
- Receipts and payments
- Party ledgers, and what each party owes
- Bank and cash balances
- Only the Tally company we pin at setup
The dashboard, the ledgers, the dues list and Fabio, the assistant, then answer from that copy. Dues sit beside your orders and attendance, which are made in Fab ERP, not in Tally.
How old can the figure on my phone be?
As old as the last read. By default Fab ERP reads Tally once an hour. An Admin in your company can change that, or start a read by hand from the Tally card.
Tally can feel slower for a moment while it answers an export, so we do not read every few seconds. Once an hour answers an owner's questions. It does not answer "has this receipt posted in the last five minutes".
What happens on Sunday, when the office PC is off?
Here is an illustrative timeline. The party and figure are invented.
- Saturday 6 pm. The last read shows Agnivesh Industrial owes ₹2,36,000.
- Saturday night and Sunday. The accountant's PC is off. Fab ERP keeps showing ₹2,36,000 from the last read and marks Tally as not connected. It looks for Tally again every 5 minutes.
- Monday 10 am. The PC is on and Tally is open. Within the next hour's read, a receipt entered this morning appears and the dues change.
So on Sunday afternoon at a customer's gate, you see Saturday's figure, clearly marked as not live. You do not see a blank screen or an error. Tally's own route, as its page describes it, fetches reports from your TallyPrime when you open them, so it depends on that computer being reachable at the moment you ask.
Does my accountant have to change how he works?
No. He keeps entering vouchers in Tally. Nothing is written to Tally from Fab ERP. His vouchers, ledgers and masters stay exactly as he left them.
An invoice you make in Fab ERP stays in Fab ERP. Your accountant enters it in Tally as usual. That keeps Tally holding only what he enters, so the books stay clean.
How do you check that the first read is right?
Do this once, on the first day, with the accountant beside you.
- Pick three parties: your biggest, your latest and your slowest.
- Open each party's ledger in Tally and note the closing balance.
- Open the same three in Fab ERP and compare.
If they differ, look for two ordinary reasons. The read is up to an hour old, so a receipt entered a few minutes ago is not there yet. Or an invoice was made in Fab ERP and the accountant has not entered it in Tally, so Tally does not have it and neither does the copy. Neither is a fault. A mismatch is a question for the accountant, not a worry.
Check the bank and cash balances the same way, against the Tally bank ledger.
What should the accountant hear from you first?
Before anything is switched on, tell him what is read and what is not. Show him the list: vouchers, ledgers, party dues, bank and cash, one company. Tell him nothing is written to Tally and that he keeps working as he does today. He should hear this from you, not find it out. A connection his accountant distrusts will not survive the first month.
What does the connector not do?
Four things, so nobody is surprised.
- It does not write to Tally. Not a voucher, not a ledger edit.
- It does not show a live figure. It shows the last read.
- It does not read every company on the PC. It reads the one we pin at setup.
- It does not carry an invoice made in Fab ERP into Tally. Your accountant enters it, as he does today.
Who sets it up?
We do, with you. We switch on what Tally needs on the PC where it runs, pin the company Fab ERP should read, and check the first reads. Every plan includes the connector. The Tally page has the detail.
Which Tally on mobile route suits your factory?
Use Tally's own route if all you need is Tally's reports on a phone, and your accountant is happy with the subscription and the computer staying reachable.
Use Fab ERP if you also want the dues beside your orders, your attendance, your cash from the phone and Fabio's answers. In that case the Tally connector is one input among several. The product page shows the rest, and the pricing page has the plans: Silver ₹4,999 and Gold ₹9,999 a month plus 18% GST for a limited time (regular ₹9,999 and ₹19,999). There is a 14-day free trial.
If you do not run Tally, none of this applies.
Questions owners ask us
Can Fab ERP change anything in my Tally?
No. The connector only exports. Your Tally stays exactly as your accountant keeps it.
Does my accountant have to learn anything new?
No. He enters vouchers in Tally as he does today.
How fresh are the figures?
As fresh as the last read: once an hour by default. An Admin can change the interval or start a read by hand at any time.
What happens if the Tally PC is off?
Fab ERP shows the last figures it read, marks Tally as not connected, and looks for it again every 5 minutes.
I make an invoice in Fab ERP. Does it go into Tally?
By default it stays in Fab ERP, and your accountant enters it in Tally as usual.
Do I need Fab ERP just to see Tally on my phone?
Not if Tally's own browser reports are enough. Judge it by asking if you also want orders, dues and attendance in the same app.
